Accessibility Highlights 2026

We are committed to making Vogrie Pogrie as inclusive and accessible as possible. Each year, we evolve, learn, and improve.

Vogrie Pogrie is held in a country park. Please bring everything you would usually use to meet your needs in a country park setting and our team will support you wherever we can to get more from the festival.

Below you’ll find information about accessibility for 2026.

ACCESS Hub 

If you have access needs, come here first! The Access Hub can be found in the Marketplace of Ideas (near Vogrie House), next to the BSL Hub, First Aid and Information

At the Hub you’ll find:

  • Our friendly access team and radio point

  • Hot drinks

  • Blankets

  • Earplugs

  • Contact info for the access golf buggies to get around the site more easily

  • Sensory Tent (7m dome tent with black-out cover and fairy lights)

BSL Hub

Situated in the Marketplace of Ideas next to the Access Hub. For all of our Deaf visitors and BSL users. We have Deaf BSL team members and BSL interpreters to support your access needs and help you find your way around the festival. Come and say hellos, ask us anything and enjoy some fun BSL activities!

15:00 - Iain Waugh: Death in a Nut - Blundabus (Twisty Oak)

Getting Around the Site 

  • Accessible Golf Buggies: Two buggies are available to help you get around the site. Collect the phone number from the Hub to call a buggy to come and collect you from one of the allocated buggy pick up points across the site. Alternatively, find one of our area stewards (they will be wearing a high vis) who will be able to radio a buggy to come and collect you from a pick up point.

  • Pathways and ground: Vogrie has paths and natural woodland areas. Paths are wheelchair friendly with light gravel, though can sometimes become muddy (we will do our best to mitigate this!). Some paths have gentle slopes. There is a medium-incline hill up to the Crafts area. A flatter route is available - please ask a Steward for help if required. Woodland floors are either raked or have some wheelchair-friendly matting. See below for photographs of pathways and ground surface at Vogrie.

  • Beach Wheelchairs: See below for information about how to borrow a chair for the festival!

Toilets 

  • Permanent accessible toilets in the park.

  • Additional accessible portaloos across the site.

  • Accessoloo with hoist available Sunday 11am–6pm, near the Twisty Oak area.

Quiet Spaces 

  • Big Wildlife Forest Sensory Area: complete with optional gentle woodland crafts and hammocks.

  • Friends Garden: a beautiful walled garden with no programmed activities.

  • Sensory Tent: next to the Access Hub at the Marketplace

Audio Describing

This year Juliana Capes will be offering an audio describing service across the weekend. Pre-booking recommended! Email vogriepogrieaccess@gmail.com. Alternatively, ask at the Hub.

Juliana Capes is an Edinburgh-based artist and experienced audio describer. She has worked for over twenty years across Scotland’s cultural sector, creating vivid, inclusive descriptions for exhibitions, performances and site-specific installations. Drawing on her background as a multidisciplinary artist, Juliana brings a poetic and audience-centred approach to audio description, combining clarity with atmosphere and emotional resonance. She has been lead artist on the National Galleries of Scotland Visual Impairment programme for 25 years.


CAMPERS WITH ACCESS REQUIREMENTS

We aim to make all camping accessible and will do our best to accommodate individual needs.

  • Our Access Team will be in touch before you arrive on site to update you on facilities and provide you with the Access Team phone number.

  • All Campers are greeted by our camping team, who will advise you on options on where is best for you to camp - i.e. near to toilets, nearer the Woodland Stage, near to paths, in a quieter spot etc.

  • Although cars are not permitted in the camping field, there are areas where it is possible to camp next to your vehicle

  • Please note the nearest stage to the campsite goes quiet at 1030pm on Friday, 1030pm on Saturday and 930pm on Sunday as things move to the Twisty Oak deeper in the Woodland.  

    We have two Accessible Golf Buggies to help with on-site transport. Collect the contact number from your campsite steward or at the Access Hub so you can call one if you need one!

BEACH WHEELCHAIRS!!

For our visitors with additional mobility needs, we’re thrilled to announce a collaboration with Beach Wheelchairs for 2026, who are providing us with 2 adult cross-terrain wheelchairs, 1 child cross-terrain wheelchair and a walker with seat. Please see information sheets below. **There will be no hoist availability on site, so users will have to self-transfer or be transferred manually by carers.**
