Community Outreach Projects 2026
At Vogrie Pogrie, community is at the heart of everything we do. This year we’re bringing together local groups, artists, and organisations to create projects that celebrate creativity, wellbeing, and collective action. Here’s what you can expect:
Seeds of Disruption
Seeds of Disruption will be joining us across Saturday and Sunday with their community stall, creative workshops and a bird lantern project. We’re also hoping to welcome back the much-loved Ragazag puppet for a special improvised performance.
South East Scotland Outdoor Woodland Learning
South East Scotland Outdoor Woodland Learning will host their own space in the festival grounds, running outdoor learning activities on both Saturday and Sunday.
Midlothian Library Services
The library team will bring Bookbug into the great outdoors, with sessions taking place in Midlothian Outdoor Nursery’s outdoor classroom on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
VOCAL Midlothian
VOCAL will share information and creative activities from its Saturday stall. The group has also been working with artist Barbara Middleton on community bird lantern workshops, with the finished lanterns contributing to the festival decorations.
Ageing Well Midlothian
Sharing a Saturday stall with VOCAL, Ageing Well will bring information and activities to the festival, along with a Tai Chi demonstration.
Midspace
Midspace will join us on Sunday with a stall where festival-goers can learn more about its work supporting mental health and wellbeing in Midlothian.
Livity Youth
Livity Youth’s team of youth workers and young volunteers will join us on Saturday with a stall and interactive art installation, as well as performances featuring dance and poetry.
Newbattle Beekeepers Association
Meet the Newbattle beekeepers at their Saturday stall and learn more about the fascinating world of bees. They’ll also be hosting a talk at the Twisty Oak at 11.30am.
Black Diamond Radio
Black Diamond Radio will be out and about on Saturday, chatting to people and capturing some of the voices and stories from across the festival.
